Rice University Police Department (RUPD) Officer Ruth Maxwell, left,

of National Police Week May 12. The demonstration was one of several
offered during the open-house event at Rice Memorial Center’s Kelley
Lounge. National Police Week (May 9-15) recognized the women and men
who serve or have served communities throughout the country as peace
officers and honor those who have given their lives in service.
