“Kelly strives to be a good role model for her team and others, being patient, courteous and customer-focused,” said Vice President for Resource Development Darrow Zeidenstein. Among her achievements that merited special recognition from the board were aggressively growing the prospect pipeline from several hundred to several thousand since the beginning of the current capital campaign; overseeing the preparation of approximately 750 event briefings and bios for use by senior administrators, key volunteers and student hosts during the three major campaign launch events; integrating her team of prospect researchers into the “sales strategy” meetings of frontline development officers; and building state-of-the-art managerial reports and campaign “dashboards” that accurately and clearly inform Rice’s decision-makers regarding individual, team and divisional performance.
“Kelly takes quiet but intense pride in her ability to complete her work with the highest professionalism, on time and in budget,” Zeidenstein said. “When called upon, she has shared her knowledge with others both within Rice (through the Budget Office’s and Resource Development’s training sessions) and externally through the Association of Fundraising Professional’s educational series.”
