RESET offers up to $15K for student-led initiatives to promote sustainability
RICE NEWS STAFF REPORTS
A more sustainable Rice campus will pay off tomorrow — and for those with the right idea, it could pay off today as well. Students, faculty and staff could receive up to $15,000 from the Rice Endowment for Sustainable Energy Technology (RESET) to carry out their vision for large-scale community-led sustainability projects at Rice.
A new subsidiary organization of the Student Association, RESET is funding student-led initiatives to promote energy efficiency and conservation, offset energy costs at the university and increase Rice’s standing as a sustainable campus. Collaboration among faculty, staff and students in project proposal design and implementation is strongly encouraged.
The RESET committee, which comprises students, faculty and staff with expertise in the energy field, will evaluate the proposals using a rigorous set of criteria and provide funding and administrative support to implement the projects.
Those who submit proposals well in advance of the Oct. 31 deadline will receive in-depth feedback from the RESET committee and suggestions for improvement.
