Hand-painted banners billowing on a clothesline in the Central Quad brought attention to Stop Violence Against Women Week. Titled “The Clothesline Project,” the display featured designs that reflect the feelings about violence against women. The annual exhibition is sponsored by Rice’s Women’s Resource Center (WRC) and aims to increase awareness of the impact of violence against women, to celebrate women’s strength to survive and to provide another avenue to break the silence about violence.
