| Lovett College President Drew Berger, right, gives Rice President David Leebron a demonstration of the surrey-style bike that arrived on campus this week. The four-wheeled, three-seat, dual-pedaled vehicle will be tooling around campus till Thanksgiving as part of an environmental-impact study by students of ENST 302/SOCI 304: Rice Into the Future, a class co-taught by Rice Director of Sustainability Richard Johnson and Professor of Sociology Elizabeth Long. The students, including Berger, are assessing the surrey as a zero-emission alternative to the electric golf carts used on campus. |
