RUPD, REMS host winter clothing drive
Houstonians are pulling coats, blankets and sweaters out of storage as winter weather finally makes its way to the Bayou City. But not everyone has something in which to bundle up as the temperature falls.
Rice University Police Department and Rice Emergency Medical Services are sponsoring a winter clothing drive to collect coats, sweatshirts and blankets to benefit the Houston homeless population.
Donations of new or gently used items can be dropped off at the lobby of the police department through Dec. 16. All items collected will be given to Autry House, a center offering meals and clothing and filling other needs of the homeless in Houston.
