Rice experts available to comment on Obama’s State of the Union address

President Barack Obama will be facing a different political landscape when he delivers his State of the Union speech Tuesday night.

Three Rice University professors are available for media interviews.

Mark Jones is Rice’s Joseph D. Jamail Chair in Latin American Studies, professor and chair of political science and fellow in political science at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. He can speak about the major themes Obama is expected to emphasize.

Steve Lewis is the C.V. Starr Transnational China Fellow at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy. He is available to discuss U.S. competition with China, which is expected to be one of the major themes of the speech.

Bob Stein is the Lena Gohlman Fox Professor of Political Science. He can speak on the political implications of the speech.
