Journalist David Axe to discuss experiences as war correspondent at Feb. 23 Baker Institute lecture

Freelance journalist David Axe will speak Feb. 23 at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy. His presentation, “Manufacturing War: How Peace Drives Us Crazy,” will begin at 11 a.m. in Baker Hall’s Kelly International Conference Facility.

Axe is based in Columbia, S.C. His work has appeared in Wired, World Politics Review, The American Prospect and Popular Science, as well as on Voice of America and C-SPAN, among others. He has reported from a number of conflict zones, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Chad and Congo.

Axe is the author of the graphic novels “War Fix” and “War Is Boring,” as well as the forthcoming nonfiction book “From A to B.” He also blogs at www.warisboring.com.
