HISD superintendent throws out first pitch

Houston Independent School District (HISD) Superintendent Terry Grier
threw out the first pitch of the season when the Rice Owls took on the
Stanford Cardinal Feb. 18 at Reckling Park. Children from Atherton Elementary School treated the crowd to their rendition of the national anthem.

Despite a promising Rice start, Stanford managed a late rally, topping the Owls 5 to 3 in the ninth inning.

The
Owls face the University of Southern California Feb. 25 at 4:30 p.m. in
