From D.C. to BRC

U.S. Rep. John Culberson, R-Houston, and 13 members of his staff visited
Rice’s BioScience Research Collaborative (BRC) March 18 to learn more
about Rice biohealth research. Below, from top to bottom: Culberson

for Research and BRC Scientific Director Cindy Farach-Carson (right)
meets with members of Culberson’s staff. John McDevitt (right), the
Brown-Wiess Professor of Chemistry and Bioengineering, explains his
research to Culberson’s staff. Jennifer West, the Isabel C. Cameron
Professor and chair for bioengineering and professor in chemical and
biomolecular engineering, discusses her work with Culberson. Kurt Kasper
(right), a faculty fellow in bioengineering, describes his research on
bone and tissue regeneration to Culberson’s staff.
