Relay For Life pulling an all-nighter April 8 at Rice Track Stadium

FROM RICE NEWS STAFF REPORTS

All-nighters are nothing new to college campuses, but one set for April 8-9 at the Rice Track Stadium has a special purpose. The Relay For Life of Houston-Texas Medical Center is an overnight event that gives participants the chance to celebrate the lives of people who have had cancer, remember loved ones who died from it and help fight the disease.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. April 8 and run through 1 p.m. April 9. Teams of people will camp out at the Rice Track Stadium and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.

Ffriends, families, neighbors, classmates, even sports teams can form their own Relay For Life teams. The only requirement to participate is a $10-per-person registration/commitment fee, which is due upon registration. Participants are also encouraged to set personal fundraising goals for donation as well.
