‘Running Water’ sweeps film competition

Wiess College senior Austin Lipinski won awards for best documentary, best Rice-related film, People’s Choice and the best overall film in the first Rice Student Film Contest.

 
   

Lipinski’s 13-minute film, "Running Water, a Tribute to Robert Flatt," portrays the life of Rice’s Robert Flatt, adjunct professor of management at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business. The film uses Flatt’s photos and narrative to illustrate his life with Parkinson’s disease.

The film was directed by Lipinski and narrated by Jones College junior Jennifer Livingstone. Jones College senior Gabriel Medina wrote the score.
