Rich Kruger (left), president of ExxonMobil Production, presents Rice University President David Leebron with a check for $853,482 as part of the company’s 3:1 match for the $302,743 that ExxonMobil employees have donated to Rice since Jan. 1, 2010. More than 400 employees at the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company made gifts to Rice last year to support everything from the Annual Fund and scholarships to the Shepherd School of Music and programs in the arts. ExxonMobil, the largest employer of Rice alumni, magnifies that support through its ongoing matching-gifts program and through additional contributions to benefit specific endeavors at Rice, such as the Baker Institute for Public Policy Energy Forum and an upcoming series of symposia on interethnic relations at Rice’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research. |
