Newspapers across the US note Rice grads

FROM RICE NEWS STAFF REPORTS

Readers of Dateline Rice have probably noticed that a number of newspapers across the country have reported on local residents who graduated from Rice in May.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer in Ohio, the Maui News in Hawaii, the Reading Eagle in Pennsylvania, the Gainesville Times in Georgia and the Midland Reporter-Telegram in Texas are just a few of the papers that have published news about Rice graduates.

These media placements resulted from news releases issued by Rice’s News and Media Relations team. The releases are customized for the Rice alumni’s hometowns.

”We have more than our share of success with Rice coverage in the Houston Chronicle, New York Times and other big-city newspapers, but having the hometown paper report your graduation from Rice is important news, too, and that means just as much to our students and their families,” said Linda Thrane, vice president for public affairs. ”These students have worked hard to earn their Rice degree, and we want their entire hometown community to know about it.”
