MD Anderson President John Mendelsohn to be named Baker Institute fellow at 1 p.m. news conference today
Rice University’s James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy will announce today at a 1 p.m. news conference that Dr. John Mendelsohn, president of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, is joining the institute.
Who: Speakers include Rice University President David Leebron; former U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker III; former Ambassador Edward Djerejian, the founding director of the Baker Institute; L.E. Simmons, Baker Institute advisory board member; and John Mendelsohn, who will be available to answer questions from the news media.
What: Mendelsohn will be named the L.E. and Virginia Simmons Senior Fellow in Health and Technology Policy, a new high-profile position that places the Baker Institute at the intersection of medicine, scientific discovery and public policy.
When: 1 p.m. news conference June 29
