Tuna Fest 2011 at Rice |
The Richard E. Smalley Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology held the ninth annual Tuna Fest at Rice University July 1. More than 1,500 faculty, staff and students enjoyed the offerings of the annual festival, including plenty of tuna and music from the Blaggards. Held each year on the Friday before Independence Day, Tuna Fest was founded by Wade Adams, director of the institute, in 2002 when he went fishing off the outer banks of North Carolina and caught more tuna than he and his wife could eat. |
