O-Week: President’s barbecue

In Texas, barbecue is more than a favorite local cuisine; it’s practically another food group. Rice’s new freshmen enjoyed plates of barbecue and the company of their new classmates Monday night at the home of Rice President David Leebron and his wife, University Representative Y. Ping Sun. In addition to Texas-style food, students were treated to tunes spun by a disc jockey, which prompted a number of spontaneous student dance-offs.
