Cox named fellow by American Institute of Chemical
Engineers

Kenneth Cox, a Rice professor in
the practice of chemical and biomolecular engineering, has been named a fellow
of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers
(AIChE). The organization honors longtime members for professional attainment
and accomplishments in engineering.

His research interests include
colloidal dynamics and stability, phase equilibria of complex systems, applications
of molecular simulation and the thermodynamics of electrolytes. Cox has given
many lectures on molecular thermodynamics and insights toward the understanding
of separation processes and design.

Cox is chair of AIChE’s South
Texas Section and has made significant contributions to the organization’s
committees and programs.

Before joining Rice in 2000, Cox
was an associate professor at his alma mater, The Ohio State University, and
worked for 17 years as a research engineer with the Shell Development Company
in Houston.
