Pregame tailgate at Sept. 3 football game in Austin

Rice Owls fans who make the trek to Austin for the Sept. 3 season opener against the University of Texas Longhorns are invited to a pregame tailgate party.

Rice alumni, students, family and friends will gather at 5 p.m. for barbecue and fun at the UT Recreational Sports Center at San Jacinto and 20th Street. Then they will make the short walk to Darrel K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium for the 7 p.m. kickoff.
