Rice University seniors Christoph Meyer of Hanszen College and David Liou of Lovett College will attend the 37th annual Business Today International Conference in New York City Nov. 20-22. The three-day conference is attended by business executives and students from around the world. It features keynote speeches, discussion panels, executive seminars and case studies to balance high-profile events with personal interaction and teamwork. Meyer and Liou were chosen from hundreds of applicants to receive an all-expenses paid trip to the event.
James Thompson, the Noah Harding Professor of Statistics, recently published his 14th book, “Data, Models and Reality.” The publisher is John Wiley & Sons.
Stephen Zeff, the Herbert S. Autrey Professor of Accounting in the Jones Graduate School of Business, received the International Federation of Accountants Gold Service Award Nov. 15 at the federation’s annual council meeting in Berlin. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the accountancy profession.
