Rice University’s Friends of Fondren Library to hold book sale Dec. 2-3

Dec. 1 presale available to buyers who pay admission fee

Rice University’s Friends of Fondren Library will hold a public sale of new and “gently used” books Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to raise funds for Fondren Library. A presale will be held Dec. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. for buyers who pay a $10 admission fee to get first access to the collection.

The sale will feature hardback and paperback books, CDs, music scores, VHS tapes and audiobooks. The titles include fiction, nonfiction, literature, poetry, mysteries, sci-fi, hobbies, gardening, cooking, children’s, non-English language, many first editions, rare books and more. Hardbacks are $2; paperbacks are 50 cents. Better books are individually priced.

The event will be held in the Grand Hall of the Rice Memorial Center.
