Scholar to discuss Argentine liberalism in Jan. 31 lecture at Rice University

Nicolas Shumway, dean of Rice University’s School of Humanities and an expert on Latin American intellectual history and culture, will speak Jan. 31 on “How Liberalism Became a Bad Word in Argentina.” A reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
