Mexican scholar to discuss Latin American intellectual history at Rice University lecture Feb. 16

ENRIQUE KRAUZE

The famed Mexican historian and author Enrique Krauze will speak on Latin American intellectual history Feb. 16 at Rice University. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Krauze, professor and researcher for the Centro de Estudios Históricos at El Colegio de México and director of the country’s most important literary and cultural journal, “Letras Libres,” will speak on his most recent book, “Redeemers: Ideas and Power in Latin America.” The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the Kyle Morrow Room in Fondren Library.

The lecture is part of the Humanities Research Center’s Global Hispanism Workshop series, “Latin American Intellectuals in the 21st Century.”
