Rice University to host 12th annual Rice Business Plan Competition

Forty-two teams hailing from some of the world’s top universities will vie for more than $1.2 million in prizes at the 12th annual Rice Business Plan Competition (RBPC) in McNair Hall April 12-14.

Teams will compete in six categories: life sciences; information technology; clean energy and green tech social and other. The teams will vie for winnings that include a grand prize valued at nearly $400,000 and the opportunity to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ OMX this summer. Judges will rank the presentations based on which company they would most likely invest in.

The RBPC is free to Rice full-time students, faculty and staff, but they must pre-register at www.rbpc.rice.edu. For a full schedule of events, visit http://rbpc.rice.edu/schedule.
