Rice students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to help build the Rice Centennial House on April 21, which has been designated as “Rice Day” for the project at 1706 Capron St. in Houston’s Greater Fifth Ward.
Rice Habitat for Humanity is constructing the house in honor of Rice University’s 100th anniversary this year. The house was designed by students from the Rice School of Architecture in consultation with Houston Habitat for Humanity.
Rice Day will begin with orientation at 7:30 a.m. Building sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rice President David Leebron and Houston Mayor/Rice alumna Annise Parker are scheduled to visit the site at 9, and lunch will be served at 11:30.
