More than 200 Houstonians, including members of the Houston Arts Alliance, turned out for the public opening of the James Turrell “Twilight Epiphany” Skyspace Thursday night. Rice Art Committee Chair Raymond Brochstein ’55 announced on behalf of the Rice Board of Trustees that the skyspace will also be referred to as the Suzanne Deal Booth Centennial Pavilion in appreciation for the generosity and artistic guidance of Rice trustee and alumna Suzanne Deal Booth ’77, whose gift made it possible for the university to commission acclaimed American artist James Turrell to design the skyspace and build it. To make a reservation to attend a sunset light show at the skyspace, visit skyspace.rice.edu. (Photos by Jeff Fitlow)
