At alumnus Larry McMurtry’s bookstore, Booked Up, in Archer City, Texas, you will find more than just shelves of paperbacks and hardcovers. A new addition to the store’s décor is one of the banners that flew over the Rice campus commemorating the university’s centennial. The banner depicts McMurtry ’60 and touts his 1985 Pulitzer Prize for “Lonesome Dove.” The memento made its way to McMurtry’s bookstore, courtesy of Rice University Representative Y. Ping Sun.
