Helping out during the storm

With Hurricane Isaac lashing the Gulf Coast, Rice University became a last-minute refuge for volleyball teams escaping the path of the storm. Louisiana State University’s (LSU) Tiger Invitational, which was scheduled for this weekend in Baton Rouge, La., was relocated to Rice’s Fox Gym. The Rice Owls took on the LSU today, suffering a 3-0 loss. The Owls face Purdue University at 5 p.m. today and the University of Washington at 11 a.m. Sept. 1.
