Charles Kriegel, who earned degrees in electrical engineering from Rice in 1932 and 1934, would have turned 100 years old on Rice Day, Oct. 12, during the Centennial Celebration. He died Sept. 13. After graduating from Rice, Kriegel began a 40-year career in geophysics with Humble Oil Co. (later Exxon). Kriegel’s daughter, Ann Ludwig ’61, and son-in-law, Karl Ludwig ’61, are Rice alumni too.
