Rice mourns loss of Development Services’ Jessie Shieh

Jessie Shieh, gift operations manager in Development Services, died unexpectedly of a cardiac arrest Nov. 12.

Shieh joined Rice in 2000 as a financial analyst and in 2007 was promoted to gift operations manager. She was also an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Rockets soccer team, Carnegie Vanguard High School and Pin Oak Middle School and taught Pilates as well.

Shieh is survived by her husband, Jai Panicker, and their children, Raena and Ronan Panicker.

Her funeral was Nov. 16 in Bellaire, Texas.
