Rice celebrated National Pie Day and the successful end of the 2012–13 Rice United Way Campaign Jan. 22 with Pie Fest at Rice Memorial Center’s Grand Hall. Members of the Rice community had the opportunity purchase slices of pie, compete in a pie-making contest and bid on celebrity-donated pies. Proceeds from the event benefited the United Way.
