Roger Elkhouri, senior executive chef of Rice University’s South Servery, was presented with an engraved copper pan by (from left) Sallye Stapleton, Annette Brown, Annette Walker and Zenia Shipp in appreciation for the hands-on cooking lessons he taught them at the Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. Although Elkhouri has been teaching cooking classes to Rice undergraduates since 2002, it wasn’t until 2010 that the popular classes were offered to the public through the Glasscock School. Certified by the American Culinary Federation, Elkhouri is teaching at the Glasscock School again this spring. (Photo by Jeff Fitlow)
