New Rice laboratory to study consequences of brain trauma
With a $1.5 million grant from the T.L.L. Temple Foundation, Rice University will create a lab that will be the first in the Texas Medical Center to study brain functions following a stroke, epilepsy or traumatic brain injury. Randi Martin, the Elma Schneider Professor of Psychology, is quoted.

Rice tennis to get a new home
Rice University will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new George R. Brown Tennis Complex May 7. The new $8 million complex will be named for George R. Brown, former chair of the Rice Board of Trustees. Trustee emeritus Ralph and Becky O’Connor and their family provided lead funding for the project.
