People, papers and presentations

The Institute of Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, will host the Symposium on Physical Principles and Underlying Mechanisms of Biomolecules and Materials in honor of Rice University’s Peter Wolynes, the D.R. Bullard-Welch Foundation Professor of Science and a professor of chemistry, and José Onuchic, the Harry C. and Olga K. Wiess Chair of Physics and a professor of physics and astronomy. Both will speak at the Aug. 3-5 event and will be joined by Rice’s Cecilia Clementi, a professor of chemistry and of chemical and biomolecular engineering, and Jianpeng Ma, an associate professor of bioengineering.
