The Rice community is invited to participate in the second annual Rice Interfaith Week March 17-22.
The goal of this student-led initiative hosted by the Boniuk Institute Council is to allow participants to experience a wide variety of religious activities drawn from a range of faith traditions, including atheism and secular humanism.
The week begins with a “Faith and Fortune Kickoff” at 11 a.m. March 17 at the Rice Coffeehouse. An “Interfaith Unity Banquet” will close out the week from 5 to 7 p.m. March 22 at McMurtry College Commons. Other activities will include a panel on the experiences of Shi’a Muslims in the United States, the creation of prayer flags, a yoga session and a sermon slam.
The Boniuk Institute Council comprises undergraduate students at Rice who act as a liaison between the institute and the student body. The council is part of Rice’s Boniuk Institute for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance.
