Students with HART

Rice students Jan Dudek, Jacob Jaffe, Carolina Osuna and Madhuri Venkateswar, members of one of the Center for Civic Leadership’s Houston Action Research Teams (HART), made a presentation Oct. 6 on the effectiveness of the City of Houston’s SafeClear program. The SafeClear program’s purpose is to contribute to public safety by clearing disabled cars from Houston’s highways. The presentation was attended by a group of city and state officials. HART is made up of small, interdisciplinary teams of Rice undergraduate students who work together with local community members and organizations to address issues facing Houston and its citizens.
