Memorial service for recent graduate Avali set for Oct. 18

The Rice community will hold a memorial service for Soorya Avali ’14 at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Brown College Commons.

Avali died unexpectedly July 28 in Dallas, where he had recently started his first postgraduation job as a business analyst. He had been featured in one of the Rice News videos about unconventional students.

A scrapbook compiled by friends will be presented to Avali’s family during the ceremony.
