Members of the Rice community can make the holiday brighter for children through toy drives on campus.
The Rice University Police Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys and games for children at Shriners Hospital. Drop donations at Rice University Police Department, Entrance 8 at University Boulevard and Stockton Street, by Dec. 16. Officers will deliver the gifts in person to the children at Shriners Dec. 17.
Housing and Dining is partnering with Marine Toys for Tots and Metro Operator’s “Put a Sock in It” and accepting new, unwrapped toys for children and new, unwrapped socks for men, women and children. Donations can be dropped off at the Housing and Dining Office through Dec. 16. Rice Athletics is partnering with Housing and Dining and offering $5 off vouchers to the Jan. 2 men’s basketball game for the donation of a toy for Toys for Tots.
