Professor of Psychology Fred Oswald was appointed to the National Research Council’s Board of Human Systems Integration. The three-year appointment was effective March 1.

Several members of Rice’s Housing and Dining staff attended the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) Southern Regional Conference March 11-13 in Raleigh, N.C. Johnny Curet, director of campus dining; Julie Bogar, senior operations manager for the South Servery kitchens; and Susann Glenn, manager of communications for Facilities Engineering and Planning, taught a class on marketing to millennials. Sous chef Juan Evangelista competed in the NACUFS Culinary Challenge, in which he was coached by Curet and Rice executive chefs Kyle Hardwick and Ed Castillo. Evangelista won the competition and will represent Rice in the culinary challenge at the NACUFS national conference in July.
