Rice University has again been designated a “Tree Campus USA” by the Arbor Day Foundation.
Tree Campus USA program recognizes colleges and universities that effectively manage their campus trees, develop connectivity with the community beyond campus borders to foster healthy, urban forests, strive to engage their students and community in forestry efforts.
Rice, whose campus is officially designated as an arboretum, is one of 16 Texas colleges and universities that earned this distinction in 2015. Rice also made the Tree Campus USA list in 2014 and 2012.
