Rice alumni Della Hoffman ’05 and Eric Jean ’05 have new Rice hats and T-shirts, courtesy of Rice Athletics and the Office of Public Affairs. The Colorado couple were caught in the April 25 earthquake that struck Nepal, where they spent five days stranded with other hikers. In interviews after their evacuation, Jean wore the battered Rice cap that has been with him on his travels since graduation. They returned to the United States shortly after their rescue via helicopter by the U.S. Embassy.
