Chowing down on some Texas-style grub

Here in Texas, barbecue is more than a favorite local cuisine — it’s another food group. Rice’s new freshmen enjoyed Texas-style barbecue and the company of their classmates Monday night at the home of Rice President David Leebron and his wife, University Representative Y. Ping Sun. In addition to a hearty dinner, students were treated to tunes spun by a disc jockey, which prompted a number of spontaneous dance-offs. (Photos by Tommy LaVergne)
