More than 100 veterans among the university’s faculty, staff and students were recognized during a Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 in Rice Memorial Center’s Ray Courtyard.
This Veterans Day marked 70 years since the end of World War II. Rice trustee emeritus C.M. “Hank” Hudspeth ’40, a World War II veteran who served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945, was honored at the ceremony. During his time in the service, Hudspeth was stationed in the South Pacific and served on the staff of Adm. William Halsey.
