Members of Facilities Engineering and Planning got into the holiday spirit during a day of volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. They donned blue “Rice” Santa hats and spent the afternoon sorting, processing and packing food to help hungry kids, seniors and other members of the Houston community. Meanwhile, members of the Rice University Police Department (RUPD), the Rice Black Student Association (BSA) and Rice University Emergency Medical Services brightened patients’ day at Shriners Hospital for Children last week when they delivered toys donated by the Rice community through the “Operation Blue Santa” toy drive. RUPD and the BSA teamed up this year for annual toy drive. (Photos by Jeff Fitlow)
