As Rice baseball gears up for its 2016 season, the team invited fans of all ages to Reckling Park Feb. 7 for its first FanFest. Fans had the opportunity to take batting practice with former major leaguers Andy Pettitte — whose son Josh is a sophomore pitcher for the Owls — and Jose Cruz Jr., who was inducted into the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003. FanFest also featured player-fan interaction, an autograph session and tours of Reckling Park by members of the baseball team.
The Owls open the season at home with a three-game series at Reckling Park against University of Arizona Feb. 19. Rice will play its first 25 games in Texas before venturing past state lines April 1, when they visit Middle Tennessee State. The complete schedule is available here.
Season tickets are still available by calling the Rice ticket office at 713-348-OWLS (6957) or online at www.riceowls.com/tickets/rice-tickets.html.
