Ruth López Turley, a professor of sociology at Rice University, associate director of research for the Kinder Institute for Urban Research and director of the Kinder Institute’s Houston Education Research Consortium (HERC), recently participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the White House Domestic Policy Council. The event was held Feb. 19 at the White House in Washington, D.C., and highlighted bridging education policy and research – a concept that Turley focuses on in HERC.
