Rice No. 1 for graduates’ starting salaries among Texas schools

Rice University graduates earn the highest average starting salary among recipients of undergraduate degrees from Texas universities, according to a new ranking by SmartAsset.

The United States Military Academy, whose graduates have an annual average starting salary of $78,500, was No. 1 nationally. The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston was No. 2 in Texas, with an average starting salary of $58,000.

SmartAsset, a financial technology company based in New York City, based its rankings on data from the National Center for Educational Statistics (2014), Payscale (2016) and College InSight (2014).
