Uninsured rate for young adults in Texas drops dramatically
The percentage of young adults ages 18 to 34 in Texas without health insurance has dropped by 35 percent since the Affordable Care Act went into effect, according to a new report released by Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and the Episcopal Health Foundation. Vivian Ho, the James A. Baker III Institute Chair in Health Economics at the institute and professor of economics, and Elena Marks, a nonresident health policy fellow at the institute and president and CEO of the Episcopal Health Foundation, are quoted.
