Rice’s Kinder Institute, JPMorgan Chase to release report identifying promising practices to help disconnected young adults in Houston

HOUSTON – (Sept. 22, 2016) – Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research and JPMorgan Chase & Co. will release a report at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 28 highlighting ways that Houston can help its young adults (ages 16 through 24) who do not attend school or work.

“Houston’s Opportunity: Reconnecting Disengaged Youth and Young Adults To Strengthen Houston’s Economy” outlines ways these individuals can become more successful and prosperous with interventions that target their needs, especially their education and career development. The report was prepared by researchers at the Kinder Institute and involved interviews with Houston-area youth and stakeholders.

The report release will be in McNair Hall’s Shell Auditorium on the campus of Rice University. The event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are requested.
