UT System Chancellor McRaven to discuss leadership and innovation at Rice’s Jones School Feb. 2

HOUSTON – (Jan. 26, 2017) – Retired Adm. William McRaven, chancellor of the University of Texas System, will discuss leadership and innovation in the 21st century as part of the Rice Veterans in Leadership Series at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business Feb. 2.

Hosted by the Rice Veterans in Business Association (VIBA) and Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy’s Roundtable Young Professionals, the event is free and open to the public but registration is required.

What: Rice Veterans in Leadership Series lecture.

Who: Retired Adm. William McRaven, chancellor of the University of Texas System and former commander of the United States Special Operations Command.

William Lyles, a veteran, full-time MBA student at Rice and president of VIBA, will introduce McRaven. Rice alumnus and veteran Jimmy Batista, who helped found VIBA, will moderate a Q&A with McRaven following his remarks.

When: 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2.

The Rice Veteran Leadership Series is an annual event designed to engage the greater business community on the enormous value veteran leaders bring to the civilian workplace.
